Merco Manufacturing Company was founded in 1961 by a small group of machinists who combined their assets to form a leading-edge aerospace manufacturing company. Doug Rossman, one of the founders, assumed control of the company in 1966, moved the business into a 10,000 square foot facility, and set out to build Merco Manufacturing into a top-flight manufacturer of complex aerospace parts and assemblies.

Ten years later, in 1976, Merco moved into its current facility in Orange, California. With 21,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space and forty-five employees, Merco continued to grow and expand its precision machining capabilities with the acquisition of NC machine tools. By 1982, Merco’s equipment included six CNC machines producing complex, 5-axis machined parts and assemblies for a multitude of aerospace applications.

The next twenty years saw Merco Manufacturing’s continuing success in aerospace manufacturing. With average sales of $3,000,000 and a loyal customer base, Merco has evolved into a multi-spindle CNC machining powerhouse. Daryl Rossman joined the company in 1988 after receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from California State University at San Bernardino. Daryl also brought his experience gained while serving in the US Air Force on RC-135 Rivet Joint and RF-4C Phantom aircraft as an electronics technician. Combined with his solid background in manufacturing from an early age, Daryl is uniquely qualified to run Merco’s modern manufacturing operations.

In 1997, Daryl became president of Merco Manufacturing and initiated a renovation and modernization program. During the next five years, Merco invested $1,400,000 to upgrade both its equipment and facilities with the goal to remain a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility into the foreseeable future.

Today, Merco Manufacturing is virtually unmatched in the large-quantity, complex machining of hard and exotic metals. “Merco has capabilities not normally found in a company of our size - and that means real value for our customers,” says Daryl Rossman, president. “Our super-rigid, multi-spindle and five-axis machining centers give us a real ‘leg-up’ on our competition. Combined with our state-of-the-art CAD/CAM and programming capabilities and our commitment to total quality, we are uniquely qualified to offer outstanding service to our customers now and into the future.”
